Accredited Home Care Senior Management Team
Barry Berger, President
In the late 1970s, after moving to California following his graduation from ASU, Barry worked for his brother’s Radiology company (RADNET). Shortly after, Barry pursued an opportunity and launched his home care career at Quality Care in Pasadena. In 1980, Barry decided he wanted to start his own company and was given a $10,000 loan from his parents. With his Dad as his first employee, Barry quickly developed a strong reputation in the home care community. From 1980 to now, Barry lead the expansion of Accredited to become one of the largest, private owned home care agencies in the Western United States. With four distinct service lines, Accredited is proud to employ over 6000 home care providers and service over 10,000 patients annually. But, Barry remains ever-focused on quality. Under Barry’s direction, Accredited has achieved a 4.5 Star Rating from Medicare and has been recognized as one of the nation’s Home Care Elite in repeated years. Barry is well-respected among California peers and continues to promote Home Care as the most desired and cost-effective healthcare service.
Taffy Berger, Vice-President
They say that ‘Behind every good man is an even better woman’. Since Taffy joined Accredited in the early 1980s, she continues to be the voice of reason and support to Barry and the entire Accredited Senior Management Team. She remains calm, cool, and collected as others seek her advice and direction when faced with the numerous challenges presented in the healthcare field. With her calm demeanor, Taffy helps maintain Accredited’s culture as a big company that tries not to act that way. Taffy created Accredited’s current business logo and tagline ‘The Accredited Family of Home Care Services’. She works hard to ensure that employees, patients and families all feel like part of ‘Our Family’.
Millette Arredondo, Chief Operating Officer
Millette is Accredited’s most tenured employee and serves as Chief Operating Officer. She began her career working for American Medical International (AMI) where she developed her administrative prowess and passion for the healthcare industry. Having lived in the Los Angeles area most of her life, she also managed a three year stint with Tri-Star Pictures and Columbia Entertainment and was instrumental in assisting Peter Guber in resurrecting the Columbia logo back to its original style which we see today. As a central figure of Accredited’s management team, Millette was instrumental in expanding the company’s footprint beyond Los Angeles County. She oversaw the creation and expansion of Accredited Respite Services, an entity that today services 4,000 developmentally disabled consumers throughout California. Millette has served in the North Los Angeles County Regional Center Vendor Advisory Committee and is a former board member of the Southern California Fragile X Association.
Neil Rotter, MSG, MSW, Chief Strategy Officer
Neil has Master’s Degrees in both Gerontology and Social Work from the University of Southern California. He is responsible for Accredited’s Business Development, Finance, and Strategic Planning functions. In 2009, Neil was awarded as the Home Care Marketing Manager of the Year by H2 Marketing. In 2015, Neil was honored with CAHSAH’s Lois C Lillick Award for contributions made in the Home Care industry. Neil enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. His hobbies include gourmet cooking, playing softball, and supporting many local charities.
Steve Arredondo, Manager of Business Operations
Steve is a 30 year veteran of the healthcare industry. His primary function involves the orchestration of a team of three to execute the administration of payroll to thousands of employees on a weekly basis. A master of all information systems, purchasing and cost containment, Steve is also responsible for setting departmental budgets and establishing competitive salary wages. In his spare time Steve enjoys playing poker, golf and most recently attempted deep sea fishing. Along with his many hats, Steve also chairs our safety committee.
Robyn Shenkman, RN, Vice-President of Clinical Services
Robyn has been a registered nurse since 1980. She graduated from Alfred University, Alfred New York with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing. She also has her public health nurse certificate and is oncology certified. Robyn also worked as a Hospice Director of Nursing and cared for many terminally ill patients. In her current role, Robyn oversees all of the clinical operations for Accredited Home Health. She is involved with many innovative healthcare initiatives in the local community. When not working, Robyn likes to walk her two Labradors, workout, and enjoys watching sports with her friends and family.
Christine Ihn, RN, Vice-President of Quality Assurance
Christine has specialized in Quality Management Program in Home Health for last 21 years. She is also a Certified OASIS Specialist. She currently serves as Vice President of Quality Management and Compliance office at AHHS. She has diverse experiences in health care working as an RN Case Manager, IPA Account Administrator, Utilization Review Coordinator and a Medicare intermediary ADR auditor. She has worked tirelessly with her QM and Clinical department to achieve 4.5 star Medicare Ratings e and Home Care Elite status in recent years.
Steven Davidson, Vice President of Extended Care and Employee Relations
For the past decade, Steve has provided oversight and direction to Accredited’s caregiving division, and he remains responsible for regulatory compliance, billing & collection, and employee recruiting/retention. Steve also manages many of the company’s human resource functions. He has served on the Policy, Advocacy & Public Affairs Committee of the California Association for Health Services at Home (CAHSAH) for several years and was presented CAHSAH’s Ambassador Award in 2015 for his advocacy on behalf of homebound seniors. He joined the Accredited family back in 2004 in a marketing assistant role when he relocated from Chicago. Steve is a retired professional soccer referee, and in his younger days, he officiated in Major League Soccer and at the international level.
Michelle Hofhine, RN Vice-President of Marketing
Michelle Hofhine is a Registered Nurse and 24-Year Home Care Veteran. In her current role as Vice-President of Marketing, Michelle is responsible for connecting prospective home care patients to one or all of Accredited’s Home Care Service Lines. Michelle is a Board Member for the California Association of Health Services at Home (CAHSAH). She just completed a 4-Year term as Advisory Council Member to the National Institute of Health Arthritis and Musculosketal Disorders Task Force. Michelle is a trained ‘Care Transitions Coach’ and has helped implement Eric Coleman’s Care Transition Program in local hospitals. During her spare time, Michelle volunteers for AYSO VIP Soccer Division which encourages special needs children and adults to play soccer.
Kylie Stratton, Regional Manager (Caregiving Services)
As Regional Manager, Kylie oversees the daily operations of Accredited Home Care’s five caregiving offices. Kylie joined the Accredited family in 2013 as Operations Manager of the West Los Angeles office, and she was promoted to her current position in 2017. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Administration from California State University at Chico, driven by her passion to serve the elderly and dependent populations. Kylie gained valuable experience and insight by working in a variety of healthcare settings including assisted living facilities, memory care units, board & care homes, and group homes for developmentally disabled adults.
