ACCREDITED UPDATE ON COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS)
June 17, 2021
While the state has announced updates regarding wearing masks in public (outside of work), there is NO CHANGE to Accredited’s company policy regarding mask wearing while working.
To ensure their continued good health, safety and wellbeing, ALL Clinicians, Home Care Aides and Respite Caregivers – INCLUDING employees who are completely vaccinated — should continue wearing masks (completely covering the mouth and nose) at all times when providing services.
Regardless of their vaccination status, all patients (clients) and family members/house guests should continue to wear masks (whenever possible) when in proximity to the client (patient) we are servicing.
CORONAVIRUS VACCINATIONS ARE NOW AVAILABLE AT NO COST. ACCREDITED STRONGLY RECOMMENDS ALL EMPLOYEES TO VACCINATE. CLICK HERE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TODAY.
Everyone 12 years of age and older is eligible to register for vaccination against the coronavirus. Rapid vaccination of all Californians is essential to protect ourselves, our families and the patients (clients) we serve.
COVID-19 TESTING IS READILY AVAILABLE THROUGHOUT CALIFORNIA
Accredited encourages all employees who suspect they might have been exposed to the coronavirus to do two things:

- Call your local Accredited Office or the Corporate Office at 800.974.1234 – Let us know of any signs & symptoms, when they began, and when you think you may have been exposed.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR EMPLOYEES:
- I don’t feel well today. What should I do?
DO NOT WORK. Call your supervisor (Regional Center employees who are scheduled to work by the client’s family can call the family first), then call Accredited and request to use COVID-19 Supplemental Paid Leave or Sick Time. Be prepared to discuss your symptoms with your supervisor. If you experience dry cough, shortness of breath, fever of 100.4F or higher, seek medical attention.
- I have no symptoms and I continue to feel fine. What actions should I take to keep working?
As a precaution, wear a cloth mask or face covering while working (Accredited Home Health employees should wear PPE appropriate for their work assignments), and remember to launder cloth masks regularly. Wash your hands as soon as you arrive at your client’s home. Then, continue to wash several times throughout your shift and when it ends.
- A relative of my client said someone in the family has COVID-19. Can I continue working?
As a precaution, please call your Accredited supervisor and share the information you have learned. We will follow-up with the family of your client (patient), assess the situation, and determine next steps.
- I want to get vaccinated. Can Accredited schedule my appointment?
We are not able to schedule vaccination appointments. All employees can schedule appointments NOW by visiting the state’s “My Turn” website.
- What sick leave benefits are available to me if I can’t work?
Accredited follows California Law in providing Paid Sick leave to all of its employees (1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked; you can redeem up to 48 hours per year).
Accredited employees are also entitled to up 80 hours of COVID-19 Supplemental Paid Sick Leave from January 1, 2021 to September 30, 2021 if the covered employee is unable to work for any of the following reasons: Caring for Yourself (employee is subject to quarantine or isolation period related to COVID-19, has been advised by a healthcare provider to quarantine, or is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and seeking a medical diagnosis); Caring for a Family Member (employee is caring for a family member who is subject to a COVID-19 quarantine or isolation period or has been advised by a healthcare provided to quarantine due to COVID-19, or is caring for a child whose school or place of care is closed or unavailable due to COVID-19 on the premises); or Vaccine-Related (employee is attending a vaccine appointment or cannot work or telework due to vaccine-related symptoms).
- What’s the best way for me to submit my timecards?
Timecards can be submitted by e-mail to your Manager (Regional Center respite workers can e-mail to ARS@accreditednursing.com) or you fax them to your local Accredited office (Regional center respite workers fax to 866-558-7732 or 818-986-9317). If you cannot submit electronically, you can leave them in the Drop Box at our Woodland Hills office or mail them to Woodland Hills, but both of these options could result in avoidable delays. Since we pay weekly, we strongly recommend all employees submit completed timesheets via e-mail or fax.
- If the mail service gets disrupted, how will I get paid?
We cannot guarantee that mail service will not get interrupted or delayed by the COVID-19 crisis. Since ALL Accredited employees are eligible, we strongly recommend our employees complete and return our Direct Deposit Form (and include a VOIDED check or bank routing instructions to Neil Rotter (email@example.com) or fax to 866.558.7732. Please note that banks may require up to two weeks to process requests, so we encourage employees to do this right away.
