Each of the locations listed below has a friendly and professional staff, and they’ll help you get over a fear of needles if that’s something that has ever bothered you. This center has had more than 40 years of experience in managing blood donations, and they do compensate donors for their contributions. Most of the donated blood is directed to organizations that conduct research, academic institutions, biotechnology companies, and pharmaceutical companies. Much of the research is aimed at finding a cure for diabetes, HIV, cancers, and other serious diseases.
At Grifols Reseda, blood and plasma donations are compensated according to different schedules, but you can expect to receive the fairest rate available. All the Grifols centers around the country are managed by one of three different companies: Biomat USA, PlasmaCare, or Talecris Plasma Resources.
American Red Cross – Woodland Hills Donor Center
Donating platelets and plasma usually takes between 2 and 2-1/2 hours, so at this location, there’s a big screen available to keep you occupied, with various entertainment on-screen to help you pass the time. Staff members are knowledgeable and friendly and go out of their way to help you feel comfortable during your stay.
Cedars-Sinai Blood Donor Services
Donors are provided with free parking, snacks and beverages, and various incentives for donating, such as movie passes, retail gift cards, coffee shop gift cards, and cafeteria gift cards. All donors are made to feel very warm and comfortable, and that your contribution is truly appreciated. Make sure to come in a little earlier on Monday, Thursday, and Friday, because the closing time is at 3:00 p.m. on those days.
