The largest park in the San Gabriel Valley area is Vincent Lugo Park, and there are more activities which you can enjoy there than you can even think of. When you get ready to take your senior loved one on an outdoor outing, this should be one of the places you consider, simply because there’s so much to do, and so many beautiful sights to take in. Quiet and shady, this park has tons of facilities for kids as well, so if you need to bring along grandchildren or children with your parent, they’ll be sure to have a ball as well.
Lacy Park has a huge rose garden that your parent may really appreciate observing and maybe even taking some photos of. It also provides a number of great family walks, so that you and your senior loved one can take advantage of trails that aren’t difficult to traverse, but which provide some great natural wonders to look at along the way. The park is kept virtually spotless by its maintenance crew, so everything you look at will be natural in its origins, rather than seeing any man-made junk which might sour the experience for you.
To get the most out of your visit to either one of these fine local parks, a little preparation will be very helpful. Keep in mind that your parent may be much more vulnerable to sunshine and heat than you are, so make sure he/she is dressed for comfort when you make your park visit, and that loose-fitting clothing is the order of the day, to assist with breathability and with good air flow. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a good wide hat will help repel the strong rays of the sun and will help your parent to avoid becoming overly heated. Just in case, make sure to pack water bottles for both of you, and make sure your parent has a good sip on that bottle every once in a while.
