Proudly providing Respite Services for Regional Center Consumers throughout California
In 2001, Accredited introduced the Parent Voucher Conversion Program as a vendor of the North Los Angeles Regional Center. Since that time, our relationship with Regional Centers
has continued to expand – and today, we service 18 of the state’s 21 Regional Centers.
How Does the Respite Program Work?
Parents/Guardians/Consumers continue to identify respite worker(s) to provide in-home care for their child or adult.
They continue to set schedules that work best for them and for their worker(s).
Accredited becomes the legal employer, subjecting the respite worker(s) to the same hiring scrutiny as our other staff, including criminal background, reference checks, CPR, and First Aid certification. We pay the worker weekly after reviewing timecards against the Regional Center’s authorization(s).
We calculate, withhold and file applicable payroll taxes.
We bond and insure our workers with both liability and workers’ compensation insurance.
Together, we ensure that respite worker(s) and family schedule shifts within the limits (quarterly, monthly, weekly and/or daily) authorized by the Regional Center.
